Event Description

Whether the kids in your life have watched the Netflix series ’13 Reasons Why’, or read the book, or neither, it’s almost guaranteed they’ve heard about it. So should we, and how do we, talk about ’13 Reasons Why’ with our kids? Join certified suicide prevention trainer, Shawna Percy of Good Grief Guru, for a discussion night where we’ll explore how to talk to kids about the series, suicide, and safety. We’ll explore why ’13 Reasons Why’ is garnering so much interest, and how to address some of the serious themes such as bullying, rape, and suicide. We’ll also discuss what some of the signs are that someone may be at risk of suicide, how to talk to a person at risk, and what training and resources are available to help adults keep kids safe. Please register.
